WILL SHE, OR WON'T SHE... Studious and (mostly) sensible, the only thing Molly Wakefield wants to do is get through Senior Year and graduate. Well, that and hit the beach in her spare time. Okay, fine - and go shopping every once in a while for a new dress... (and who could blame her?) And things are going according to plan - until the day she spies Weston McGrath, handsome star athlete and scholar, spying on her in study hall. A tad creepy? Maybe. Thrilling? Absolutely. You see, Weston McGrath happens to be one guy no one can get close to. Despite her best efforts to avoid it (because let's face it - the guy isn't exactly "boyfriend material") Molly and Weston form a friendship. And more.... Sort of. But it's a friendship that comes with a price - because Weston just cannot seem to stop screwing things up. Or saying all the wrong things. Possibly in that order... And who has time for an 18 year old "fixer-upper" that should know better? Not Molly. Or does she?
Kissing in Cars Kiss and Make Up Volume 1 Sara Ney Books
I have read almost everything that Sara Ney has written and loved them all. But with this one, it fell a bit flat for me. The writing was great and the story flowed nicely, but the plot was thin and the romance was lacking. However, I did find this to be a cute and entertaining YA read. The character development was decent, but their immaturity drove me crazy. Weston and the way he went about things with Molly, constantly messing up. I guess this boiled down to his inexperience with girls and dating. Then there was Jenna and the way she carried on about Weston in front of her own boyfriend and Molly too. I just had trouble connecting with the characters. They frustrated me and I found myself wanting to strangle them at times. They weren't all bad though. At times they were quite enjoyable, giving me a good laugh.
Let's just say while I liked this book, it was not my favorite by Sara Ney. Don't get me wrong, this is a good novel. I just found it to be lacking in certain departments. Will I pick up the next book in the series? Absolutely because I love Sara Ney's work and I might find it more enjoyable than this one.

Kissing in Cars Kiss and Make Up Volume 1 Sara Ney Books Reviews
The characters and premise of this young love story were really good. Molly is a strong, independent and smart young woman who doesn't 'need' a boyfriend but of course, would like to find a special someone. Weston, is a star hockey player with high hopes for a college and pro career and he is known as a bad boy womanizer. The story begins with Molly in study hall realizing that Weston is checking her out. From there, the romance story develops and I while you can see the romance developing between them, I was still intrigued to see how it would all work out since they really are both good strong characters. It all takes place during their senior year in high school.
This could have been such a great story! Both Molly and Weston are great characters and their family dynamics are good as well. Molly's brother is a college hockey player and well known and her cousin is in the NFL. Weston's parents are totally focused on him becoming a college/pro player and his father is really intense about him not having any distractions, including Molly. He is downright rude to her when they first meet her. So, when the story ends and then goes into an epilogue one year later, I was so disappointed. There was so much more that could have been told in their story! You go from Molly and Weston deciding to be an offical couple to on year later and for me, there were so many questions and scenarios that I felt could have been part of their story and made this book a great fun young romance. I felt like this book simply skimmed the surface...and this is an instance where I would have liked to see a second book....even though I am not a fan of cliffhangers by any means. I just feel so strongly that there was more to their story.
Overall, if you like young romance with not much angst and it's pretty "clean" but lots of suggestive languange, then I think you would like this book.
This book really should of been a four star book however the editing issues were tooooooo frequent and missing words makes it that much harder to read a book. But aside from the editing issues this book was a nice read and I really enjoyed it! This was such a cute story about teenaged love without all the raunchy sex to make the storyline believable. Now don't get me wrong I love the raunch and this book had its steamy moments (literally) and made it that much more enjoyable. I liked Molly I really did she was more realistic than most teen female characters I've read about in books. I LOVED the fact that though she was "innocent" she wasn't a virgin! I can't tell you how tired I am of reading stories about virgins. You know the ones who fall in love with the bad boy looses virginity and falls to pieces when the break up happens( the expected break up element that happens in all romance books). However this book didn't use its the breakup formula as its "down" moment for the characters. I liked Weston too however his portions did come off as if he was a chick and not a male but the author knew that because she had Weston saying as much. I didn't like Molly's best friend Jenna she was annoying and I could've did without her in the book. Molly and Weston's friendship was a cute one I loved how Molly wasn't the sappy chick who cried all the time about ish that hurt her feelings. I love how she called Weston on his ish and made him mature throughout the duration of this book. In my overall opinion this book is worth the money and time it took to read and buy I think you'll really enjoy it.
3.5 Stars Very Cute, Very YA
While it features her signature d-bag leading man, this isn't the typr of Sara Ney book I am use to. It was cute, however I'm probably too old to appreciate a high school book. Plus, I have a fifteen year old daughter and get to hear this kind of stuff in real life. That said, it was nice to finally meet Weston and Molly, as I have already read the first book in this series.
Kissing in Cars reads like a teeny bopper movie, hot untouchable guy, normal girl that admires him from afar, the annoying best friend that adds the humor a book needs. I liked these characters and even the fact that the parents were invilved, which they should be really for the ages.
Molly and Weston follow Sara Ney's writing style and become friends first, constantly exchanging barbs and witty lines. I do love that. Molly puts Weston in his place time and time again, something Mr. Popular isn't use to at all.
The story line is predictable, but was a fun little read.
